Before the beginning of Pradosh Kaal puja on the festival of Diwali, you will have to pay special attention to the cleanliness and decoration of your house. On this occasion of Diwali, you should wear neat and clean clothes. Keep a small platform near the temple, spread a red or yellow cloth on it, and install the idol of Ganesh Lakshmi. 

Keep in mind that the head of the idol should be in the east or west. Now light two big lamps. You have to place a kalash in front of the idol and place a coconut on it. And 16 heaps of rice have to be made for Lord Ganesha. And nine heaps of Navgraha have to be made from rice on the side of the Kalash.
